Naval Yard Criterium

The Philadelphia Naval Yard Crit is a great course in the Philadelphia Naval Yard. The Naval Yard has so much history, and it's really cool to ride in a race where the buildings are a century old, and there are huge ships that you can see as you drive into the Yard.

The morning of the race was a little chilly. The course is a 1.5 mile loop that goes counterclockwise and consists of 6 turns. It's a very technical course, and we were relieved that the Cat 4's were able to get a preview lap before the ride - extremely helpful since one of the turns was 180 degrees. There were 13 riders total in the race and five of them were from the Sturdy Girls Team. Barbara Statton, Lara Marek, Judi Rivera,Hannah Vanderlan and I participated. I did not do as well as I had hoped to do in the race and part of that was because I was struggling with a cold at the time. I also struggled with the amount of turns there were in the course.

Next year I hope I will do better then I did this year!!
