Sturdy Girls: M and Anne Rock
"M and I went to Fairhill for the spring race. It was grand. Cold and grand. Trails were in great condition--better condition than me. We did two 7-mile laps which featured varied terrain and one really nasty climb. My teeth hurt.
M made a great move on a short punchy climb 1/4 of the way into the race. A bunch of girls dismounted at the top having underestimated the need for momentum to get them up this climb. I got stuck behind them and had to dismount. M came from behind and shot past everyone. Go M!
I spent most of the race with Caitlin Thompson and two Wooden Wheels riders. It was a lot of dirty fun.
There were 29 sport women; 14 over 40. M came in 3rd in the 40+ race and I came in 5th after rolling over and playing dead in a sprint for 4th.
Overall, we were 11 and 14th. "
